Tips Tuesday - Wedding Tip #4

For Tips Tuesday we have Wedding Tip #4. Getting ready photos are important for more than just the photos. A lot of my clients aren’t sold on doing getting ready photos. They just aren’t their priority. They would rather spent more time elsewhere. I get that mindset, but here is why I am hesitant- running behind. Besides all the candids of your favorite people and beautiful moments that happen during getting ready, if I’m not there, I can’t get you moving and keep you on time to get out the door for your portraits. Getting ready is the first thing that we do and almost always the cause of the day running late. Most times we can’t delay your ceremony (nor do we want to). So what gets cut short if we’re running behind? Your photos. I schedule in extra buffer time to help with this issue, but there is only so much we can do if we’re heading out the getting ready room door super late. Other tips that can help with running behind during getting ready. 1. Plenty of time for hair and makeup. 2. A professional hair and makeup artist that is used to getting multiple people done efficiently. 3. A planner that is putting out fires so that you are not delayed by questions that you shouldn’t have to answer. 4. Communication with your photographer about what you want to happen during getting ready. For example robe photos, first look with dad, big reveal with bridesmaids.
